Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath held a meeting on Thursday night with top officers to review the work of residential and non-residential buildings being constructed for police lines, transit hostels, and training institutes under the Home Department. He instructed that these projects be reviewed weekly by a secretary-level officer in the Home Department and fortnightly by the additional chief secretary.
The chief minister directed that all construction projects valued at over Rs 50 crore undergo monthly third-party audits by technical institutes. These institutions must conduct on-site verifications and submit detailed reports, including photographs, for transparency.
Highlighting the importance of quality, the chief minister pointed out a shortage of expert engineers within construction agencies. He suggested engaging retired experienced professionals or skilled experts from reputed technical institutions to address this gap effectively.
While reviewing the zone-wise budget allocation and progress of construction works, the CM stressed the importance of ensuring adequate residential facilities for police personnel working in the field. To address this, multi-storey residential buildings are being constructed within police lines.
