Lucknow University V-C G Patnaik on Saturday sent a circular to the Deans of Faculties,asking them to notify the post-graduate students with attendance below 75 per cent. “Only those who meet the minimum attendance will be allowed to appear for the examinations,” LU spokesperson Rajesh Mishra said.

Dead jawans kin demand CBI probe

The family of Army jawan Kailash Singh (27) who allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself in Jammu on March 27 where he was posted,demanded CBI inquiry into his death. The body of Singh was brought to his native place Bhawipur village in Budaun on Friday. Residents of the village,who refused to admit that Singh had committed suicide,staged protest,also demanding that Singh should be given status of martyr.

S Korean woman molested,1 arrested

A South Korean woman was allegedly molested by a youth when she was travelling in an auto-rickshaw along with her friends in Dashashwamedh police station area of Varanasi on Friday. The accused was arrested and sent to jail.
