Man arrested for duping women on pretext of marriage in Delhi

Detailed analysis of the money trail revealed the accused had used a bank account to receive money, which was subsequently transferred through UPI transactions,” officials said.

Digital footprints and location analysis led police to the accused’s operational base in Rajpura. The mobile phone used in the commission of the crime was recovered.

“During questioning, the accused told police that he was in need of money as the financial condition of his parents were not good and also to maintain his extravagant lifestyle. He created profiles on matrimonial and social media platforms to lure women. He spent the money he made by duping them on expensive liquor and parties,” DCP Singh said.

To evade detection, the accused frequently changed his location, police said, adding that he resided in Janakpuri before shifting to Punjab. Further investigation is underway.
