State teams announced

Two state teams namely UP XI and Mobility India XI,which will be participating in the upcoming 5th National Cricket Tournament for the differently abled were announced on Monday.

Two state teams namely UP XI and Mobility India XI,which will be participating in the upcoming 5th National Cricket Tournament for the differently abled were announced on Monday. The tournament will be organised at Lucknow from March 25 to 28 by the Indian Cricket Federation for the Disabled (ICFD) in collaboration with Mobility India,Uttar Pradesh.

Talking to The Indian Express,founder secretary of ICFD and Mobility India Dr AW Siddiqui informed that out of a total of 33 teams expected to participate in the tournament,32 teams have already given their confirmation. The matches of the tournament will be held at KD Singh ‘Babu’,Chowk and LDA Stadia as well as ‘Medical College’ and Colvin College grounds.

“While at least 40 per cent physical disability is the criteria needed for participation in this tournament,as per the data received from different teams,most of the players who will be participating in this tournament suffer from 50 per cent or above disability. Some players having 90 per cent disability will also be seen in action. The tournament aims at providing a platform for differently abled players to exhibit their talent in cricket,” he further added.

Mobility India XI: Govind Singh Rana (captain),Neeraj Yadav (vice captain),M Faheem,Kuldeep,Jitendra Pratap Singh,Yogesh Jadaon,Rajiv Kumar Pandey,AN Siddiqui,Shashank Kumar,Rakesh Kumar Yadav,Siddharth Seth,Abu Hubaida,Vijay Kumar Chaurasia,Waseem Ahmed (wicketkeeper),Vimal Kumar; Manager: Krishna Bihari Yadav.
