The National Commission for Scheduled Castes has shot off a letter to Lucknow University alleging discrimination by a teacher against one of its students.

In the letter,NCSC assistant director Tarun Khanna has said Vipin Kumar,an MBA student,is being failed in Marketing Management for three semesters by his teacher Dr Ritu Narang.

The commission has also asked LU to get Vipin’s copy re-evaluated from the MBA department of some other university and notify commission of action taken by October 7.

Talking to The Indian Express,Dr Narang said she is “surprised” at the student’s move. “I have been teaching since 1996,and all students are equal to me. The copies are coded and there is no way one could know whose copy is being checked,” she said.

“He obtained his copy through RTI and both father and son tried to pressurise me in increasing his marks,” she alleged, adding the student has been poor in both internal and external papers of the subject.
