Union Minister and Apna Dal leader Anupriya Patel staged a sit-in demonstration along with her party MLAs and supporters in Raniganj town of Pratapgarh district till late Sunday evening, after her roadshow was reportedly disturbed and her cavalcade pelted with stones allegedly by supporters of a local leader.

The incident took place, when Apna Dal workers were out on a roadshow with the Patel and party MLA from Vishwanathganj, R K Verma. Police said the procession came face to face with supporters of a local leader Vinod Dubey, who is planning to contest the Assembly polls as an Independent, leading to an argument.

Anupriya, however, blamed the SP government, and said the incident showed the condition of law and order in the state. ENS
