RLD fields youyh leader for Mant bypoll

LUCKNOW: With a challenge to retain the Mant Assembly seat in the upcoming by-poll,the Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) has given ticket to its youth leader Yogesh Nohwar. Polling in Mant is scheduled on June 12. Mant seat became vacant after RLD leader Jayant Chaudhary had resigned from membership of UP Legislative Assembly,opting to continue as Lok Sabha member from Mathura constituency. The RLD had won Mant seat after 22 years. Jayant had defeated Shyam Sunder who had won the Mant seat for six straight times since 1989.

UP attempts to create world’s longest red ribbon

LUCKNOW: UP is attempting to create world’s longest Red Ribbon made by the hand prints of children on the eve of World AIDS Orphan Day on May 7. The initiative is taken by an NGO,Ummeed,in collaboration with UNICEF and UP State AIDS Control Society. Members of Guinness World Record and Limca Book of Records will also be present.
