Rahul to interact with farmers,labourers

All india Congress Committee General Secretary Rahul Gandhi will visit Kheri district on December 7 as part of the state Youth Congress’ membership drive.

All india Congress Committee General Secretary Rahul Gandhi will visit Kheri district on December 7 as part of the state Youth Congress’ membership drive.

He will interact with young farmers to see if they could be entrusted with political responsibilities.

“During his visit to Kheri,Rahul will visit Pallia town and interact with farmers to see how youths could be given political responsibilities,” state Congress president Rita Bahuguna Joshi said.

“Rahul’s mission 2012 in UP will be fulfilled through youthful and energetic leadership and that is why he is focusing on youths,” she said.

The Amethi MP will visit seven districts of the state,including Kheri,on December 7 and 8. He will halt for a night in Hardoi on December 7 and leave the next day to address a women’s conference in Lucknow.

On December 8,he will also interact with labourers in Kanpur. “Rahul will meet industrial workers,rickshawpullers and labourers working in various tanneries,” Union Coal Minister Sriprakash Jaiswal said over phone.

Rahul also plans to meet the youth leaders of the party and the city’s young businessmen,he said.

Later in the day,he will also attend programmes to be organised in Kannauj,Farrukhabad,Etawah and Kanpur (Rural).
