Lokayukta Justice (retd) NK Mehrotra,who is probing charges of corruption against Minister of State for Animal Husbandry and Dairy Development Awadh Pal Singh,on Wednesday gave time till August 9 to the Principal Secretary of Animal Husbandry Department Harsharan Das to provide relevant documents relating to alleged anomalies in awarding contracts for construction of veterinary hospitals.
Harsharan Das had asked for time till August 9 to provide the documents when he appeared before the Lokayukta on Wednesday.
Principal Secretary of Dairy Development Department Ashok Kumar,who was also summoned on Wednesday,did not appear before the Lokayukta,who has now asked him to come on August 5.
I have given the time till August 9 to Harsharan Das,Principal Secretary of Animal Husbandry Department,while Ashok Kumar,Principal Secretary of Dairy Development Department,has been summoned on August 5, said Mehrotra.
Minister Awadh Pal Singh is facing charges of corruption in awarding contracts for the construction of 21 veterinary hospitals in Etah district to Chaudhary Latoori Singh Construction Company,which is owned by his son.
Minister is also accused of large-scale irregularities in the Dairy Development Department,where he allegedly awarded contracts to his relatives.
