Pranjala wins girls singles crown

Talented player BR Nikshep bagged a double crown in the Asian under-14 series tennis tournament which came to a close at Oudh Gymkhana Club Courts,Lucknow on Friday.

Top seeded Nikshep defeated unseeded Paramveer Singh Bajwa 7-5,7-5 in the boys singles finals. Later,pairing with Alex Solanki he beat Bijay Mohanty and Aryan Goveas 5-4(7),4-0 to win the boys doubles crown as well.

In the girls singles finals,Pranjala Yadlapalli (seed-2) defeated Himani Mor 6-2,6-1. In the girls doubles final,the pair of Vanshika Sawhney and Himani Mor beat Karman Kaur and Jennifer Luikham 4-1,5-3.

Girls doubles semi-finals: Himani Mor/ Vanshika Sawhney (Ind) upset Pranjala Yadlapalli/ Sruta Kirti Gunaganti (Ind; seed-1) 9-3; Karman Kaur/ Jennifer Luikham (Ind; seed-4) upset Eeshita Pandey/ Aboli Goghari (Ind; seed-2) 9-3;

Boys doubles semi-finals: Alex Solanki/ BR Nikshep (India; seed no-1) beat Ishaque Eqbal/ Shree Krishna (Ind) 9-8(3); Aryan Goveas/ Bijay Mohanty (Ind; seed-2) beat Paramveer Bajwa/ Rian Pandole (India) 9-7;
