NRHM papers found on roadside in Agra

Official documents related to the pulse polio and the routine immunization programmes of the National Rural Health Mission were found lying abandoned in a gunny bag on a roadside in Tajganj area of Agra district on Monday evening.

Official documents related to the pulse polio and the routine immunization programmes of the National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) were found lying abandoned in a gunny bag on a roadside in Tajganj area of Agra district on Monday evening.

The documents, which are from the official records of three financial years — 2005-06,2006-07 and 2007-08 — included voucher payment slips, files and registers.

Agra Chief Medical Officer Ram Ratan said,“We are sure the documents were deliberately removed from the office. We suspect the involvement of a clerk who maintained the records for the last 15 years.”

He said papers contained details of money released to the staff who helped in pulse polio, the routine immunization programme, and other details.

District Magistrate Ajay Chauhan said the CMO had requested the state government to order an inquiry into the matter by the Additional Director of the Agra division.

An FIR of negligence was being lodged against clerk Kamal Gupta,he said.

The police said they got information that a bag containing some official papers was lying abandoned near JP Palace hotel under Tajganj police circle.
