Noida farmers stall work

Farmers affected by land acquisition on Thursday stalled work here being conducted by private builders to protest against the alleged non-implementation of High Court orders.

Farmers,under the banner ‘Kisan Sangarsh Samiti’ made the work stop and sat on a dharna in sectors 133,128 and 142 along the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway.

“Though the authority had promised to implement the court orders,it has not yet given the developed plots,” said Mahesh Awana,leader of the samiti.

According to him,the farmers will allow to resume work after the court order to give 10 per cent developed land and 64 per cent hike in compensation to them is implemented.
