No Naxal gang in UP: DGP

The UP Police on Wednesday said that after the recent arrest of two Naxalites,no Naxal gang is operating in the state. “After the arrest of Munna Vishwakarma and Lalvrat Kol in Sonbhadra in the past fortnight,no Naxal gang is operating in the state now,” DGP A C Sharma said. “During their interrogation,the police came to know about arms suppliers and shelter providers to these Naxals,” he added.

Two get life imprisonment in sodomy case

A local court has awarded life imprisonment to two persons in a 10-year-old sodomy case. Additional District and Sessions Judge S N Tripathi awarded life imprisonment to Lallu and Kishori on Tuesday for sodomising a teenager in Bhaggarwa Bazar in Hujurpur area in 2002.
