Following clash among two groups of students on Sunday at Amity University,the varsity administration suspended nine students from the university on Monday. Denying that the incident was of ragging,the college administration has formed a committee to investigate the matter.
On Sunday,11students from third,fifth,sixth and seventh semester of B Tech were involved in a clash,in which,two students were injured. The students fought with each other over some issue in the mess,yesterday afternoon. Two of the fifth semester students,Vivek Singh and Saif Ali,were hurt in the clash and were taken to the nearby hospital for first aid, said Ashutosh Chaubey,spokesperson of the Amity University. Vivek lodged an official complaint with the Chinhat police station. However,no FIR has been was lodged, said.
Among the students suspended on Monday are Azad Neel Mani Singh and Karan Veer Singh of 3rd semester,Jyoti Prakash,Ankit Singh,Vipul Thakur,and Mrityunjay Pathak of 7th semester,Mohit Singh and Ashfaque Asaf Khan of 5th semester and Deepak Kumar of 6th semester,said Chaubey.
We have formed a four-member committee which will submit its report within a week. The fate of the students will be decided after the committee submits its report, he said. ENS
