All-round efforts by Amit Chopra (65 runs; 2 for 18) and Rahul Sachan (45 runs; 2 for 5) helped Mega Trends in defeating Hi-Sky Club by seven wickets in their quarter-final match of the 3rd RD Bhardwaj Memorial Cricket Tournament held at DAV College grounds,Lucknow on Monday.

In another quarter-final match of the same tourney played at LDA Stadium,Aliganj,LDA Coaching Centre defeated Unity Cricket Academy by 11 runs. Batting first,LDA Coaching Centre scored 171 runs losing four wickets in 37 overs. Three overs of the LDACC innings were deducted as it “submitted its team list late to the match officials”. Gopal Singh (38 not out),Chetan Sachdeva (36 not out),Sufiyan Khan (31) and Manish Kumar (31) were the main run-getters. Ravindra Solanki took two wickets while SM Mehndi claimed apiece.

In reply,Unity Cricket Academy could score 160 runs losing eight wickets in the given 40 overs. Adeel Baqar (36) and Ali Hamid Zaidi (34) were the main run-getters. Gopal Singh bowled economically and also claimed three wickets giving away 23 runs in his eight over spell. Ajay Shukla and Satyam Singh took two wickets each.

SCC XI triumph
SCC XI defeated Armaan Academy (J) by four wickets in their league match of the Shivli Prime Sports Cricket Tournament,in Lucknow on Monday. Brief Scores: Armaan Academy (J): 77 all out in 22.4 overs ( Rohit Pal 25,Sudesh Yadav 17; Ajay Rawat 2 for 14,Suresh Kumar 2 for 6); SCC: 78 for six in 16.3 overs ( Vishal 19,Suresh Kumar 16,Ishwar Prasad 15; Rahul Saxena 3 for 4).

National College win
National PG College defeated Mumtaz PG College while Delhi Business School beat Shia PG College in their respective league matches of the 1st Delhi Business School Battle Ground Cricket Tournament,in Lucknow on Monday. Brief Scores: (1st match):- National PG College: 89 for nine in 20 overs ( Abhas Vohra 18 not out,Nilendra Singh 17,Atul Yadav 16; M Shariq 3 for 3,Haribansh 3 for 18); Mumtaz PG College: 56 all out in 12.2 overs ( M Shariq 21; M Atif 3 for 4,Sufiyan Khan 3 for 18,Dushyant Raj 2 for 12). Shakuntala Mishra cricket
The 9th Dr Shakuntala Mishra memorial inter-state cricket for the visually impaired will be organised at Lucknow from February 9 to 14. The tournament is being organised by the Dr Shakuntala Mishra Smriti Sewa Sansthan,Lucknow. The matches will be organised at KD Singh ‘Babu’ and Chowk Stadia.

Tuesday’s Fixtures: At ‘Babu’ Stadium: Haryana vs Rajasthan (from 9.00 am); Uttar Pradesh vs Jharkhand (from 12.30 pm); At Chowk Stadium: Karnataka vs Maharashtra (from 9.00 am); Bihar vs Gujarat (at 12.30 pm).
