MBA programmes at LU extended

The All India Council of Technical Education has approved the extension for seven MBA programmes of Lucknow University for the session 2009-10.

The All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) has approved the extension for seven MBA programmes of Lucknow University for the session 2009-10.

The Institute of Management Sciences has been given extension of approval for six of its MBA programmes — MBA (CM),MBA (F&C),MBA (IB),MBA (Marketing),MBA (MS) and MBA (Tourism) with an intake of 60 students each.

Approval has also been granted to two-year full-time MBA programme with an intake of 60 students. The Department of Business Administration runs this programme.

The university authorities claimed that a communication to this effect has reached the university on Monday.

The university Registrar GP Tripathi said: “The university had applied for approval last year. Six courses of IMS and another MBA (full-time) programme have got AICTE approval.”

The university has submitted a separate proposal to the AICTE for the approval of six other MBA programmes presently being run as MBA (HR&IR),MBA (Retail) Management),MBA (Agribusiness),MBA (RDM),MBA

(Petroleum Technology and Management) and MBA (part-time).

Tripathi said the approval for these programmes is awaited.
