Maya asks officials to pull up socks; will resume tour after Diwali

Chief Minister Mayawati would resume her statewide tour after the Diwali festival,in order to review the progress in the development works,besides law and order situation at ground level.

Government officers,including the district magistrate/senior superintendents of police,who attended the monthly review meetings held by Chief Secretary Anoop Mishra and Cabinet Secretary Shashank Shekhar Singh,were informed about the CM’s next tour programme.

According to government release,Mayawati has directed the officers — particularly those who are posted in the field — to remain alert to maintain law and order situation in view of the coming festivals. Although CM was not present at the meeting,her instructions were communicated to the officers by Mishra and Singh. The CM has communicated to the officers that she would not tolerate any laxity on their parts in the proper implementation of her government’s various schemes.

The government has directed officers to give top priority to create awareness about the Janhit Guarantee Act. Regarding Ambedkar villages,she has given clear instructions to her officers to get all the development works completed by the end of December. She has also asked the officials to initiate the process for allotment of houses to poor people under the Kanshiram Urban Poor Housing Scheme (Phase 2).

At the meeting,the officers of Gorakhpur and Basti were given special instructions for undertaking preventive measures to stop the spread of Japanese Encephalitis.
