UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath As the state is set to host 19th Bharat Scouts and Guides Jamboree after a gap of 61 years, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath reviewed the preparations for the event on Thursday. The CM directed the officials to ensure “world-class arrangements” and warned that there should be “no scope for lapses”.
The event will be held from November 23 to 26 at the Defence Expo Ground in Lucknow and will host 32,000 scouts, from different parts of the country as well as abroad.
CM Adityanath issued directives to “ensure proper security arrangements especially for the women cadets participating in the event” and directed that all the amenities right from accommodation, sanitation, safety, food and health services to digital connectivity should be of high standards.
The 300-acre FIDO Jamboree complex is designed to accommodate 32,000 participants and 3,000 staff members, said the officials. Delegates from Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Afghanistan, and several countries in the Asia-Pacific region will also participate in the event, informed the officials.
During his visit, he was accompanied by Jal Shakti Minister Swatantra Dev Singh, Transport Minister Dayashankar Singh, Prabhat Kusar (retired IAS), State Chief Commissioner Scouts and Guides, and DM Lucknow, Vishakh G.
According to the officials, during the event, there would be 100 stalls featuring ODOP products, robotics and electronics displays, and NEDA (New & Renewable Energy Development Agency)’s solar pavilion, which would showcase the state’s innovation. There would also be a planetarium, AI zones, and cultural exhibits and cuisines from Varanasi, Bundelkhand, and other regions of Uttar Pradesh would also be available, informed officials.
According to the officials, for the event, 16 German hangers, 600 water tanks, 30 RO points, over 2,200 toilets, 100 kitchens, and four central kitchens are being developed.
There would be a conference hall with a capacity of 3,500, while a temporary police station, and 11 fire tenders would also be deployed at the spot, said the officials. Arrangements are being made for a dedicated mobile tower to help cadets stay connected with their families during their stay, informed officials.
