Lucknow industrial development authority all set for revival

The Lucknow Industrial Development Authority,constituted in 2005 during the previous regime of Samajwadi Party,is all set to take off.

The Lucknow Industrial Development Authority (LIDA),constituted in 2005 during the previous regime of Samajwadi Party,is all set to take off. The decision to revive the authority was taken at a board meeting in Lucknow on Thursday under the chairmanship of Industrial Development Commissioner Anil Kumar Gupta.

While the deadline of one month was set to start the allotment of plots in the existing project of IT park,the board also decided to come out with another scheme of giving about 40 acre of land for non-polluting general industries in the existing LIDA area. The budget of Rs 71 crore was also sanctioned for the current financial year.

LIDA has about 350 acres of land with it at present. In a significant decision,the board also decided to withdraw the previous proposal of giving about 100 acre of this land to the Lucknow Development Authority and instead increase the land bank of the LIDA.

We have decided to start the process to acquire additional 500 acres and bring it under the LIDA, said a senior officer. The target was also set for allotment of about 80 acres in the current financial year so that the authority can start having its own earnings.

The board was informed that for development of IT park,proposal of about 351 industrialists is already pending,thus the decision was taken to consider their applications and start the process of allotment as soon as possible.

About 25 acres of land has been sanctioned for disaster management and training centre of The Indo-Tibetan Boarder Police.
