They had seen him on big screen and small, but never in flesh and blood. So,when Darsheel Safary, famous for the role he essayed of a dyslexic child in the National Award winning Taare Zameen Par,visited City Montessori School,Kanpur Road branch on Tuesday to inaugurate a week-long festival of children’s films, they were thrilled to bits and the excitement was mutual.

“I am very happy to be in a new place, meeting students my age,” said Darsheel, who advised giving due to time and attention to studies, hobbies and “masti”,necessarily in that order.

“I got my break to act in Taare Zameen Par,while I was pursuing my hobby of dance, participating in a workshop by choreographer Shiamak Davar,” said the little actor, whose moving performance in the role of a talented child maladjusted because of his learning/writing disability was appreciated by all.

“I have completed a film called Zokkomon,in which I play a super hero and there is another project lined up called Bam Bam Bhole, for which I have begun to shoot,” he said.

Not just looking a tad too small for his goggles,he even mentioned a “girlfriend…but I cannot say much about her.”

Must be hard for ‘taare’ to stay ‘zameen par’!
