A Class IV employee of the Chandra Shekhar Azad (CSA) University of Agriculture and Technology and his wife were brutally murdered in the premises of the institute in early morning of Thursday.
The victims daughter-in-law has in her police complaint alleged that a neighbour,also a CSA employee,and his son are involved in the killing.
Acting on the FIR lodged by Seema,the daughter-in-law of the victims Durga Prasad (55) and Sharda Devi (50) Nawabganj police has arrested CSA employee Om Prakash,while his son,Dharmendra,is still absconding.
Seema told media persons that her in-laws had a quarrel with their neighbours over erecting a tin-shed outside their house on Tuesday. Om Prakash,a tempo driver,and his son had attacked them with sticks and threatened to kill them, she said.
The ASP,(Kanpur West),Mohit Gupta said: Prima facie,the crime appears to be outcome of a personal enmity,but we are also working on other aspects.
He further said that Om Prakash has been arrested and search has been initiated to nab Dharmendra.
The Public Relations Officer of the CSA,S B L Srivastava,said,Prasad was with the Seed Technology department of the institute while Om Prakash worked in the Dairy Farm department.
