Former UP Chief Minister Kalyan Singh paid a visit to BJP state headquarters in Lucknow on Tuesday,after more than four years and reportedly guided the party leaders to revive the agenda of Hindutva and associate the smaller Hindu castes with the party.
Kalyan,who is yet to take formal membership of the party,addressed party leaders who had assembled from across the state to discuss preparations for jail bharo andolan campaign.
However,state party president Laxmikant Bajpai denied the reports that Kalyan attended the meeting. Kalyan came to party office only to take his son and party vice-president Rajvir Singh who was here for the meeting, Bajpai said. Kalyan and Rajvir both were unavailable for comments.
Meanwhile,according to sources,Kalyan stayed in the meeting hall from 2.30 pm to 4 pm and addressed the leaders for nearly half-an-hour. Sources said that Kalyan spoke on three issues including strengthening of party organisation,preparations for Lok Sabha elections and Hindutva.
A party office-bearer said that Kalyan recalled the win of 1991 Assembly elections when BJP had get majority because of Ram Mandir issue.
