Jhappi-happy Munna booked for Maya bite

Actor Sanjay Dutt today got into fresh trouble when he was booked on obscenity charges for allegedly saying that given a chance he will give “jaadu ki jhappi”,the “magical hug” made famous by his Munnabhai flicks,to Chief Minister Mayawati during a poll rally in Pratapgarh.

“A case had been registered against film star and SP leader Sanjay Dutt for making derogatory and undignified remarks against Chief Minister Mayawati during an election rally held at KP Hindu College ground on April 16,” a senior police officer said.

During the rally,Dutt allegedly said he “will give ‘jaadu ki jhappi and pappi’ (magical hug and kiss) to the people of Pratapgarh and given a chance I will do the same with the Chief Minister and BSP chief Mayawati”.

The 49-year-old actor,who was last month barred by the Supreme Court from contesting elections over his conviction in the Mumbai blasts case,has also been slapped with a notice for model code of conduct violation for making derogatory remarks against a woman and asked to submit a reply within three days.

This is the second FIR against Dutt in less than a week’s time.

Earlier on April 14,a case was filed against him for allegedly making communal remarks during an election rally in Mau district.

Dutt had allegedly told the meet that in police custody,he was given third degree torture because he was son of a Muslim woman.

Akhilesh Das booked for Nafisa remarks

* Three days after BSP’s candidate from prestigious Lucknow Lok Sabha seat Akhilesh Das made “objectionable” remarks against Samajwadi party’s nominee Nafisa Ali,an FIR was lodged against Das on Saturday.

Assistant Returning Officer Chandrashekhar lodged the FIR at the Qaiserbagh police station. The case has been registered under Section 171 G of the IPC (false statement in relation to personal character or conduct of any candidate). Another FIR was also lodged by the ARO against Das under Section 127 of Representation of People Act for distributing pamphlets which did not carry name of the printer.
