It’s A Girl

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan delivers a baby girl,making even those bored by the speculation smile.

The countrys most-awaited baby arrived on Wednesday morning,a little before 10 am at Seven Hills Hospital in Andheri,Mumbai. Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan are now the proud parents of a baby girl. The family announced the babys birth on Twitter. Abhishek broke the news saying,ITS A GIRL!!!!!! :-))))). He had earlier admitted to his friends that he would like to have a baby girl. His tweet was followed by Amitabh Bachchans tweets,which said,I AM DADA to the cutest baby girl !! and A dada ji . Ecstatic !!!!. The girl is Amitabh and Jaya Bachchans third grandchild,after Agastya and Navya Naveli children of their daughter Shweta and son-in-law Nikhil Nanda.

Aishwarya,38,was reportedly admitted to the hospital on Monday night. Even though there were rumours on Tuesday that she had gone into labour,Sr Bachchan clarified on the social networking website in that they still awaited the arrival of the youngest Bachchan.

The Bachchans and the Rais have been by Aishwaryas side at the hospital. Sources reveal that Aishwarya went into labour at 4am on Wednesday morning and had a normal delivery. Abhisheks sister Shweta,his friend Goldie Bahls wife,Sonali Bendre,and familys close associate and politician,Amar Singh,were among the first to visit the mother and the newborn.

Good wishes started pouring in from industry members as well as fans on Twitter. Writer-lyricist Javed Akhtar tweeted,Congratulations Amitabh ji,this has evoked my memory of the day when Shweta was born. Time flies and how swiftly !! Karan Johar congratulated the proud father,Congratulations!! Baby B had a baby girl!! @juniorbachchan!!! All the love and happiness…am sure she will be the prettiest girl ever!!!

Unlike the Abhi-Ash wedding,their childs birth saw the media keep itself in check. The birth of a girl child has dispelled many rumours that the Bachchans hoped for a male heir and had planned the babys arrival on the auspicious date 11/11/11.
