In a major bureaucratic reshuffle affecting 14 senior-most IAS officers in the Uttar Pradesh government, Chief Secretary SP Goyal lost key charges of the Infrastructure and Industrial Development commissioner, chief executive officer of Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA), and project director of the UP Diversified Agriculture Support Project (UPDASP) to Additional Chief Secretary (Finance) and Agriculture Production Commissioner Deepak Kumar.
Goyal also lost the post of Uttar Pradesh State Highways Authority (UPSHA) CEO to Ajay Chauhan, principal secretary (Public Works Department).
The orders were issued by the state government late Thursday evening.
Deepak Kumar has also been given the charge of civil aviation, which was taken from principal secretary to the Chief Minister and additional chief secretary (Home) Sanjay Prasad.
Kumar was made additional chief secretary (Home) during the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, replacing Prasad on the direction of the Election Commission of India (ECI). But Prasad was reinstated to the past earlier this year.
Principal Secretary (Tourism) Mukesh Meshram will now be principal secretary (Animal Husbandry, Dairy Development and Fisheries); Amrit Abhijat, principal secretary (Urban Development), will replace Meshram as new principal secretary (Tourism, Culture and Religious Affairs).
Partha Sarthi Sen Sharma, who was principal secretary (Medical, Health and Family Welfare) will now be principal secretary (Basic Education and Secondary Education).

Anamika Singh, who was principal secretary (Forests and Environment) and CEO of Uttar Pradesh Clean Air Management Project Authority, has been made the new Food and Civil Supplies commissioner.
Bhupendra S Chaudhary, the Existing commissioner, has been appointed as the new Bareilly divisional commissioner.
Amit Kumar Ghose, principal secretary (Secretariat Administration, and Dairy Development and Fisheries) would now be principal secretary (Health and Family Welfare, and Medical Education).
