BJP to campaign for farmers’ rights
The BJP will launch a statewide campaign from June 3 to 9,protesting against the alleged atrocities by the state government on farmers,state president Surya Pratap Shahi said on Tuesday. “Neither do the farmers have regular power supply,nor do they have proper irrigation facilities. Above all,there is rampant corruption at wheat procurement centres,which is adding to their woes,” said Shahi. He also questioned the declaration of assets by Chief Minister Mayawati. “The chief minister may have declared her assets,but one cannot forget that she has been also accused of disproportionate assets. The people of UP would like to know the source of her income,” said Shahi.

Labourers set dumpers on fire
Three dumpers of Hindustan Construction Company were set on fire by a group of labourers on Tuesday after a supervisor attached with the company died in a road mishap in Faizabad district on Monday night. The victim,Shanti Dev,was killed after a rashly driven Scorpio hit his motorcycle in Raunahi area.
