Explosives on train: state ATS to conduct probe
The Anti-Terrorist Squad of the Uttar Pradesh Police would look into the recovery of explosive devices from the Sampark Kranti Express train at Mahoba railway station on Thursday,ADG (law and order) Brij Lal said on Friday.
On the nature of the bomb,Lal said the Allahabad police had verified that they were gelatine sticks with loose wires. The device was found in a sleeper coach of the Delhi-bound Manikpur-Hazrat Nizamuddin Express.

Adulterated ghee racket busted,six arrested
LUCKNOW: Six persons were arrested on Friday after police unearthed an adulterated ghee racket following a raid in a factory in the Ghaziabad district of Uttar Pradesh.
As many as 100 drums of raw fat,seven drums of ghee besides seven drums of adulterated ghee was seized,said Additional Director General of Police,Law and Order,Brij Lal.
The accused told police that they used to get animal fat from slaughter houses,the ADG said,adding that 2 kg ghee was mixed with 20 kg raw fat to prepare the adulterated ghee.
The ghee was supplied under the brand of “Chand” to Mustafabad area of Delhi,the ADG said.
He added that the police are searching for the owner of the factory and a case has been registered in the matter.

Kanpur youth falls off hostel floor,dies
NEW DELHI: A 23-year old Kanpur youth died after he reportedly fell off the fifth floor of his hostel building in Ghaziabad on Friday.
According to the police,the body of Saurabh Satchan,a second-year student of BJ College of Pharmacy near Modinagar,was found around 8.30 pm.
He was taken to Lokpriya Hospital,where he was declared dead on arrival.
While the police suspect it to be a case of suicide,the college authorities said it was an accident.

Man bites wife on Barabanki court premises
BARABANKI: A man bit his wife’s nose at the court premises in Barabanki on Friday,following a heated argument between the couple over some legal dispute.
Ram Milan,who got married four years ago,does not live with his wife.
“They are involved in a legal dispute for which both were present at the court premises,” said a police officer.
Suspecting that his wife was involved in illicit relations,Milan accused her of harassing him by lodging false cases. Following this,they entered into a heated exchange and Milan bit her nose.
On hearing her cries,local lawyers beat up Milan. The duo was first taken to the district hospital from where the woman was referred to a Lucknow hospital.

Four arrested for marketing fakes of popular products
LUCKNOW: Four persons were arrested on Friday for allegedly marketing sub-standard imitations of popular soaps and detergents,said police.
The police team intercepted a van yesterday and recovered sub-quality ‘branded’ detergent powder.
The van driver later led the police team to the factory in Sarojini Nagar area,where the material was being manufactured.
Goods worth lakhs of rupees,besides a packaging machine,wrappers of reputed companies and raw material was recovered,said police.
