Four held for lewd remarks on Army officer’s wife
Four persons were arrested on Sunday for allegedly passing lewd remarks on the wife of an Army officer at a shopping complex in Lucknow’s Gomti Nagar area. The Army officer had gone to the shopping complex with his wife,when four persons began passing lewd remarks. The Army officer called police and the four — Ajay Vikram Singh,Vipin Samedhia,Abhishek Kumar Joshi and SS Bhist — were arrested under Section 294 of the IPC (obscene acts and songs). “The four claimed they are contractors,” said ASP (Trans Gomti) Paresh Pandey.

Ice-cream unit raided in Kanpur,2 held
KANPUR: The Kanpur Nagar Nigam (KNN) and district authorities have tightened the noose around illegal ice-cream manufacturing units mushrooming in the city. A day after a joint team comprising KNN officials and Panki police unearthed an illegal ice-cream manufacturing unit in the Panki Industrial area,a team led by District Magistrate Amrit Abhijat carried out a surprise raid in another such unit in Gudgudipur area on Saturday evening. Unit owner Parusram Yadav and his assistant,Pratap Yadav,were arrested and a case under Prevention of Food Adulteration Act was registered against them. The health section of the KNN has been asked to launch a campaign against all such illegal units from Monday,said City Magistrate H P Sahi.
