To promote quality education and disciplined academic environment in the universities across the state,the government has constituted a committee comprising the vice-chancellors of six universities of Uttar Pradesh.
The committee,which will be headed by vice-chancellor of Chhatrapati Shahuji Maharaj Medical University,will advise the government on various aspects of higher education,including upgradation of educational activities in rural areas.
The decision was taken during a meeting called by Chief Secretary Atul Kumar Gupta where V-Cs of various universities specialising in medical education,agriculture,veterinary,and vocational and technical education took part.
The committee constitutes V-Cs of Chaudhari Charan Singh University,Meerut; Veterinary Science University,Mathura; Agriculture University,Kanpur; Lucknow University,UP Technical University and CSMMU.
The committee has been asked to submit their suggestions in the next two months.
