Govt reviews coordination between administration,cops

The controversy related to Bhatta-Parsaul remained the cause of concern during the review meeting held for government functionaries on Friday. The commissioners,IGs,DIGs,DMs and the SPs attending the meeting were instructed not to ignore any issue related to law and order as it can result into a serious problem later.

Cabinet Secretary Shashank Shekhar Singh and Chief Secretary Anoop Mishra held the meeting and conveyed the chief minister’s directives to the officials.

A senior official,who was present at the meeting,told The Indian Express the DMs and SPs of the districts where the farmers had earlier indulged in violence over land acquisition were asked to ensure no gathering was allowed for agitations. The officials were also instructed to ensure a close watch on activities in the villages and also on the people visiting the farmers from outside.

The cabinet secretary and the chief secretary also emphasised on better coordination between district administration and police,the lack of which is believed to have intensified violence at Bhatta-Parsaul and communal tension in Meerut.

Besides,the top officials asked the DMs and the SPs to keep a close watch on jail administration.

The commissioners and DMs were also asked to ensure the beneficiaries of Mahamaya Gareeb Arthik Madad Yojna received the financial aid and development work on urban slums for dalits is started by May 31.

Principal Secretary (Home) Kunwar Fateh Bahadur and DGP Karamvir Singh later in the evening held a meeting with the IGs and DIGs of the ranges and district SPs.
