Four more arrested for BEd paper leak

The four persons arrested on Sunday includes Avnesh Singh Rathore,Rajesh Kumar Yadav,Manoj and Sonu Verma. Avnesh and Rajesh were arrested from Mohammadabad town of Farrukhabad while the other two were arrested from Agra.  

Police claimed that papers were leaked from Sahitya Bhawan Publications,Agra,where they were printed as per the orders from the Lucknow University. One of the men arrested was an employee of Sahitya Bhawan Publications and is currently working with Nutan Publications in Agra.

Though the leak was detected on May 4,the accused had put the leaked papers up for sale from May 1.

Addressing the media on Sunday,ADG (Law and Order),Uttar Pradesh,Brij Lal said: “The role of Sahitya Bhawan Publications is suspicious and its authorities will be questioned and action may be taken against them.”

The BEd joint entrance test were scheduled for May 4 and May 5 but it was cancelled on May 4 after computerised sets of papers for General Knowledge (GK),English and Hindi of Section ‘A’ were recovered from a photocopy shop in Mohammabad. Around 600 photocopied pages had been seized and four men arrested. They were Saurabh Rathore,Brijesh Kumar Yadav,Sanjay and Pradeep Dubey. Two others — Sunil and Rajesh — had managed to flee during the police raid. Rajesh is the owner of a photocopy shop and he was arrested in Mohammadabad.

“During investigation it was found that Avnesh Singh Rathore — a former employee of Sahitya Bhawan Publications — had provided the paper to Saurabh Rathore,” said the ADG.

“He had accessed the papers with the help of Sonu Verma and Manoj Verma. Sonu works in packing section of the publishing agency. He provided a set of question paper to Manoj who handed it over to Avnesh in Farrukhabad on May 1.”
