Four get jail term for attack on police team in Etah

Four persons were sentenced to seven years in jail for attacking a police party which had gone to conduct a raid in connection with a case in 2002.

Etah: Four persons were sentenced to seven years in jail for attacking a police party which had gone to conduct a raid in connection with a case in 2002. The court also imposed a penalty of Rs 5,000 each on the convicts on Thursday,prosecution sources said. Eleven others accused were acquitted of the charges due to lack of evidence,they said.

In January 2002,the accused — Ramprakash,Dinesh,Ram Singh and Alwar — had attacked the police team which had gone to conduct a raid on their house in Nagla Bhavani village of the district,injuring some policemen.

They had also looted some rifles,which were later recovered by the police.

Minor kidnapped,brother names neighbour in FIR

Etah: A minor girl was allegedly kidnapped by some bike-borne persons here when she had gone to answer nathure’s call. The 13-year-old girl was abducted from Nardoli village on Thursday,police said.

The brother of the victim has lodged an FIR against five persons,including one of their neighbours,the police said.

Meanwhile in another incident,a woman teaching at a private school here was kidnapped allegedly by a co-staff when she was returning from work on Thursday.

Her family has lodged a complaint in this regard,they said,adding,investigations in both the cases are on.
