For Joshi,SP stands for exploitation

“While the Congress will keep the nation’s interest above everything,they will try to fulfill personal agendas and cause hinderance in the functioning of the government,” Joshi said while urging voters to boycott such forces. She also reiterated that Congress was happy to contest the elections alone and was sure to fare better in the present scenario.

Joshi,the daughter of political stalwart Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna,reminded voters of her legacy and background.

Asserting that she has an edge over rivals,Joshi said: “While Atal Bihari Vapayee was a distinguished parliamentarian,his nominee Lalji Tandon is not fit to step into Vajpayee’s shoes.”

Listing her achievements as a university professor,social activist,politician and housewife,Joshi said she tries to be a perfectionist and will attempt to make Lucknow a perfect city.

Joshi,who has also been the Mayor of Allahabad,said it was her dedication and clean image that had prompted Sonia Gandhi to entrust her with the job of reviving the party’s electoral fortune in the state as UPCC chief.

Earlier in the day,Joshi went on door-to-door campaign in Malviya Nagar,addressed a Dalit meeting in the Cantonment,inaugurated an election office in Jankipuram and held a few public meetings.
