Five kill 65-year-old scrap dealer

Five people attacked an elderly man with an axe killing him on the spot and tried to escape by opening fire,injuring one man in Lucknows Saadatganj area in broad daylight.

Five people attacked an elderly man with an axe killing him on the spot and tried to escape by opening fire,injuring one man in Lucknows Saadatganj area in broad daylight. However,one of them was overpowered by the locals. Later,the police caught two more men.

Rehmat Ali (65),a scrap dealer,was on way to work when five persons attacked him killing him on the spot. There was a dispute over money and land between Ali and the assailants. Three of them who were later arrested said it was Abdul Sajjad who had dispute with Ali. Sajjad had escaped after the incident, said the Circle Officer,Bazaar Khala,B S Garbial.

Three of the assailants were brothers. Those who have been arrested are Sajjads brother Abdul Qadir and his two sons Tibu and Sonu. The police have launched a hunt for Sajjad and his other brother Abdul Jilani.

According to police,five men surrounded Ali while hw was on his way to shop. There was a heated argument between them during which Sajjad,who was carrying an axe,attacked Ali. As some people tried to catch the assailants,Abdul Qadir,of the assailants,who carried a licensed double-barrel gun,opened fire,injuring one Ajay Ahmed in the leg. Nevertheless,he was overpowered by locals. Later,the police traced two other assailants.
