FIR lodged against man for posing as SP office-bearer

An FIR has been lodged against a person,who allegedly forged a letter to pose as an office-bearer of Samajwadi Party in a bid to get through with his works.

An FIR has been lodged against a person,who allegedly forged a letter to pose as an office-bearer of Samajwadi Party (SP) in a bid to get through with his works.

The accused already has several criminal cases registered against him. The police said they were investigating the matter further. The FIR,registered on Monday,was lodged on the basis of a complaint filed by Amar Singh,an office-bearer of the SP from Phaphamau,after the matter was brought to the notice of the district SP president Pandhari Yadav.

It came to our knowledge that one Raj Mangal Dubey was writing recommendation letters and other applications on his forged letter pad,in which he posed as SPs block president. But there is no official position of a block president within the party. It is for the police to see whether he has forged my letter pad or those of other officials too, said Yadav.

Station Officer (Nawabganj) Aditya Kumar said that the FIR has been lodged under sections pertaining to cheating by impersonation and forgery,besides using forged documents as genuine.
