FIR against SP MLA for blocking rail

Railway Police Force (RPF) filed an FIR against Samajwadi Party MLA,Gorakh Paswan,and 100 unidentified persons on Monday for allegedly trying to obstruct a train from travelling as they staged protest on the railway tracks near Bankara area of Balia district on Monday demanding railway crossing for the convenience of the locals. The Intercity Express between Varanasi and Gorakhpur was stopped for around 18 minutes. The situation came under control after RPF personnel used force to disperse the crowd. Paswan had won from Belthara constituency in Ballia recently.

Former UP governor deliberately stalled university bill: Azam

Badaun: UP Urban Development Minister Azam Khan on Monday alleged that former Governor T V Rajeswar had “deliberately stalled” a Bill meant for opening an university in Rampur. “The then UP governor T V Rajeswar unnecessarily did not give assent to bill for opening Jauhar university in Rampur and forwarded it to President,” Khan said while addressing a gathering in Badaun. Jauhar univeristy is a dream project of Khan.
