Teams comprising doctors have been deployed at immigration points on the Indo-Nepal border covering five districts of eastern Uttar Pradesh for screening visitors for H1N1 Flu. The points are Sonauli in Maharajganj,Barhni in Siddharthnagar and Rupaidiha in Bahraich.
Gorakhpur Chief Medical Officer Dr R N Mishra said all necessary equipment,including protection kits and drugs,have been provided to the teams. Isolation wards for suspected H1N1 cases have also been set up. A special ward has been constituted in Gorakhpur Medical College as well,he added.
Between May 5 and June 10,around 60 foreign tourists have been screened,but none was found infected with Swine Flu, said Dr Hari Prakash,Chief Medical Officer of Bahraich. The Health department has issued notices to hotels and rest houses situated at the India-Nepal border to immediately inform in case any foreigner checks in.
