Rahul Gandhis dramatic act of tearing up a paper with a list of election promises of political opponents at a poll rally drew a sarcastic reaction on Thursday with the Samajwadi Party (SP) state president Akhilesh Yadav saying that he may now jump off the stage to vent his anger.
Akhilesh said that Rahul is becoming nervous fearing a rise in the number of people who voted for the SP in the first three phases of assembly elections.
Akhilesh addressed seven rallies in Fatepur,Pratapgarh and Chhatrapati Shahuji Maharaj Nagar today. Talking to media persons after the rally,Akhilesh also went on to advise Rahul to control his anger as it was not good for his health.
Terming Rahuls act of tearing the paper on stage a political drama, Akhilesh said that as the SP is gaining popularity,Rahul is getting angry. He said that Rahuls anger is increasing with each phase.
After the first phase,Rahul vented his anger by pulling up the sleeves of his kurta and after the second phase,he tore the paper containing list of his own candidates, Akhilesh told the gathering at Chhatrapati Shahuji Maharaj Nagar. After the third phase,who knows,Rahul might as well jump off the stage to show his anger, he said.
While addressing a campaign in Lucknow on Wednesday,Rahul had torn a piece of paper,which reportedly had a list of election promises made by political opponents. Rahul had targetted SP national president Mulayam Singh Yadavs long list of election promises during his speech,saying that mere promises were of no use for the people.
