CJM hearing Babri case shifted,hearing deferred

Chief Judicial Magistrate of Rae Bareli court,Gulab Singh,who was hearing the Babri demolition case,has been transferred to Aligarh.

Chief Judicial Magistrate of Rae Bareli court,Gulab Singh,who was hearing the Babri demolition case,has been transferred to Aligarh. The High Court had issued the transfer notification of Singh and 141 judges,additional judges,civil judges,chief judicial magistrates and chief metropolitan magistrate on May 25. Following his transfer,the cross examination of senior IPS officer,Anju Gupta,in the Babri demolition case has been deferred to July 12. “Since new notification nominating new magistrate is yet to be issued by the High Court,the cross examination could not take place today,” said K P Singh,CBI counsel,on Tuesday. The new date has been fixed by court officials. Gupta was deployed as personal security officer of BJP leader L K Advani on December 6,1992 — the day when Babri mosque was demolished.
