CISF men at Taj beat up Army man,his wife

A visit to the monument of love in Agra turned a nightmare for a tourist couple when Central Industrial Security Force personnel beat them up following an argument.

A visit to the monument of love in Agra turned a nightmare for a tourist couple when Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel beat them up following an argument. They did not even allow the couple to lodge a complaint with the local police.

Rameshwar Dayal,a Subedar with Jat Regiment, reached the Taj Mahal with his wife on Tuesday evening. While frisking him at the entry point at the Eastern Gate,CISF men found a tobacco pouch in his pocket. Dayal asked the CISF men if the pouch would be returned to him on his return. One of the CISF guards took offence and allegedly started hurling abuses while others charged at Dayal when he objected to it. They thrashed the Army man even as his wife kept pleading with them.

According to eye-witnesses,one of the CISF guards pushed the woman, who then fell down and lost consciousness. The jawans stopped only when Dayal pleaded with them that his wife needed urgent medical help. Before letting off Dayal, the guards allegedly extracted from him a written promise that nothing had happened to them.
