Charges framed against Mukhtar Ansari, 12 others in two cases
“On Thursday, Mukhtar Ansari appeared in two courts through video-conferencing. Other 12 accused appeared in the court in person,” said Barabanki government counsel Dinesh Mishra.

Two courts in Barabanki district have framed charges against jailed gangster-turned-politician Mukhtar Ansari and 12 others in two cases, including the one involving the use of alleged fake documents for registration of an ambulance.
The other case against Ansari, a five-time MLA who is lodged in the Banda district jail, was registered under the Uttar Pradesh Gangsters and Anti-Social Activities (Prevention) Act on the basis of the FIR lodged in connection with alleged fake documents used for the registration of the ambulance used to ferry him from a jail to a court in Punjab’s Mohali. Mukhtar, who at that time was lodged in a Punjab jail in connection with an extortion case, was transferred to the Banda jail on the Supreme Court’s order in 2021.
“On Thursday, Mukhtar Ansari appeared in two courts through video-conferencing. Other 12 accused appeared in the court in person,” said Barabanki government counsel Dinesh Mishra.
Except for Mukhtar, the other 12 accused in the two cases are out on bail.
