Caught in crossfire,youth injured

A youth was injured critically in a crossfire with police at Sarvodya Nagar in Lucknow’s Ghazipur area on Wednesday night. The police said they opened fire in self-defence. The injured youth has been rushed to CSMMU’s Trauma Center. “His identity is yet to be ascertained,” said G Singh,Circle Officer,Gomti Nagar. According to Singh,the police,which was conducting a vehicle checking drive near Neelgari complex,spotted four youths on two motorcycles. When the police team tried to stop them,they opened fire and tried to run away. The police gave chase and fired back,in which the youth got injured. The other three managed to escape.
