Bulandshahr hooch toll rises to 15

The District Magistrate (Bulandshahr),Shashibhushan Sushil,said four men,including the salesman at the country liquor shop,have been arrested.

All of them were involved in the racket,he added.

J K Shahi,the Superintendent of Police,Bulandshahr,said the salesman — Devi Singh — had sublet an illegal counter of his shop at Meerpur village to Lajawab,Amarjit and Jai Prakash alias Hullar.

He used to mix water in the liquor bottles before selling it to vendors who used to adulterate it further with other substances to increase the quantity.

The adulteration of the liquor caused the deaths.
