Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) MLA from Beekapur in Faizabad,Jitendra Singh alias Bablu, has landed in a controversy for allegedly threatening occupants of a shopping complex in Hazratganj area of Lucknow.

Occupants of a Lucknow building say he threatened them to vacate it; MLA says he has bought the property

Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) MLA from Beekapur in Faizabad,Jitendra Singh alias Bablu, has landed in a controversy for allegedly threatening occupants of a shopping complex in Hazratganj area of Lucknow. The building,Saushil Complex,is located at 20/A-3,Gokhle Marg.

One of the complainants,Mahesh Chandra Srivastava, who occupies a portion on the third floor of the complex where he runs RQ Consultancy, alleged the MLA had visited the complex on May 13 along with his aides and threatened all the occupants to vacate the offices and shops in the building within 15 days. Srivastava also said the occupants had met Lucknow DIG Rajiv Krishna the same day and handed over a complaint against the MLA and his associates.

Krishna confirmed the occupants had met him and said he had forwarded their complaint to the SHO of concerned Hazratganj police station, asking him to probe into it and submit a report.ADM (City) and the SHO visited the spot today and made enquiries about the legal claims of both sides. “The police would verify the ownership documents. Nobody would be forced out. Even if the MLA has relevant ownership papers,he is supposed to get the possession through legal means only.”

Meanwhile, the MLA said,“We have purchased the building at 20/A-3,Gokhle Marg through legal procedures from the bona fide owner,Abha Tiwari of Ghazipur district,on April 29 last. The ownership of the building has been transferred legally in the names of me,my wife Anita Singh,Aditya Mohan Arora and Alok Singh through registered papers.” “We had merely sent the legal notice to the occupants and nobody from our side ever threatened any of them. The charges framed against me are false,” he said. Srivastava, however, claimed 26 occupants deposit the rent to the owner of the building Abha Tiwari every month. He also claimed they had deposited their rents through cheques to Tiwari just three days ago.
