The Samajwadi Party accused the BSP and the BJP on Tuesday of conspiring to vitiate the atmosphere ahead of the court verdict on the Ayodhya title suits. The party also slammed the Congress-led UPA government at the Centre for remaining a mute spectator to the hype being created by the two parties.
Every day,Chief Minister Mayawati is creating a scare as if some disaster is in the offing in the state. She has demanded over 600 companies of paramilitary forces from the Centre, prohibitory orders are being enforced and the security forces and police are staging flag marches in different cities and district headquarters, said SP state president Akhilesh Yadav. Ayodhya has been converted into a fortress,he added.
The conduct of the UP government has created a panic-like situation across the state. Apprehending trouble after the verdict, the people have started stocking essential commodities, thus leading to spurt in the prices, said Yadav.
Addressing mediapersons in Lucknow,Yadav said that in many districts, the administration has acquired schools and colleges which are either being converted into temporary jails or used to accommodate the security forces personnel. To create a scare among the people, the government has announced plans to procure lathis, torches and helmets worth Rs 50 crore for policemen. Similar purchases are being made for Home Guards and Pradesh Raksha Dal jawans,he alleged.
