Rs 3.75 lakh stolen from sadhu at Sangam
Unidentified persons stole a bag containing Rs 3.75 lakh from a car belonging to Swami Narendra Giri of Baghambari Mutt,parked near the Bade Hanuman Temple in the Magh Mela area on Friday. Though the Daraganj police have lodged an FIR,the officers were in a fix because the car windows were found intact and its doors locked. “Maybe someone working in the mutt was involved. We are investigating the matter,” said DIG Chandra Prakash

Cold wave kills two more in western UP
Muzaffarnagar: At least two persons have died due to extreme cold wave conditions in different parts of the district,police said on Friday. Ram Swaroop (60) and Kishan Singh (62) of Khedhai and Shamli villages died at a hospital on Thursday. Due to extreme cold,DM Amrit Abhijat has ordered all schools and colleges to remain closed.
