Film unit member dies during shoot
Sohail Shah,an assistant production chief of director Anurag Kashyaps untitled film,which is being shot in Mirzapur,died when he lost control over his jeep and fell off a pontoon bridge on Ganga on Thursday. A native of Mumbai,30-year-old Sohail was driving during the shooting of a scene,when he lost control while trying to save a person coming from the opposite direction. He was rushed to a hospital in Varanasi,35 kms away,where he later succumbed to injuries. The film staff told us that it was an accident. Moreover,there was fog on the bridge, said Chunar Station Officer Manoj Agarwal.
Sahara unveils research centre
The Sahara Hospital in Lucknow launched its Academic and Research Centre on Friday. The centre is expected to conduct clinical researches and also be involved in multi-centric clinical trials of drugs,devices and technologies of medical science. Dr R K Gupta,former dean and head of the department of pathology at Lucknows SGPGI will head the cell.
SBI donates Rs 20 lakh to SGPGI
The State Bank of India (SBI) donated Rs 20 lakh to SGPGI in Lucknow on Friday to set up a separate dialysis unit for the poor. The SBIs Chief General Manager,B V Chaubal,handed over the cheque to the director of SGPGI. According to a press release issued by the bank,the amount has been donated to SGPGIs Kamdhenu Ati Nirdhan Chikitsa Sahayata Society and will be used to purchase four dialysis machines.
