BPO exec’s murder: 2 Noida cops shifted

The officers transferred to rural districts are Circle Officer-II Ambesh Tyagi and Station House Officer (SHO) of Sector-24 police station Inspector Babu Ram Verma. Tyagi has been transferred as Circle Officer of Greater Noida — he will be replaced by Rajesh Kumar,Circle Officer-III of Greater Noida.

Inspector Verma has been shifted to Jarcha police station in Greater Noida. Girish Jayant from Jarcha police station will take over as the Sector-24 SHO,the police said on Friday.

The new team will investigate the case afresh,it was informed.

“The three doctors who have conducted the postmortem on the victim will be questioned,” a senior officer said. “We also have to investigate whether the victim was raped before murder,as circumstantial evidence points out,or whether it was a case of suicide — as the accused claims.”

According to the officer,Bhatia’s cellphone is yet to be traced,and the murder motive is also to be probed.

Bhatia had left her Noida Sector-22 home on the afternoon of March 1 — purportedly to play Holi with friends,according to her family members. Her body was later found in Badhkal Lake by Faridabad police; it was cremated since the police there could not identify the victim.

The victim was traced by family members from her clothes,after Noida police contacted their Faridabad counterparts.
