BJPs agitation against price rise starting on January 30 is set to be a stormy affair under its new president Nitin Gadkari,who is said to be keeping a close eye on the performance of cadres during the 26-day protest that concludes on February 25. Party sources said Gadkari has asked for regular update on the protests.
Over 50 state office-bearers have been given charge of different Assembly constituencies to monitor the preparations and ensure a big crowd. Even national leaders like Rajnath Singh,Murli Manohar Joshi and Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi who have been connected to UP some way will monitor the preparations and participate in the protests, said a leader. According to party sources,the district units have been asked to send daily inputs on the performance during the protest to the state headquarters,which will send a compiled report to Gadkaris office.
After the first day,the party plans to organise motorcycle rallies by its youth wing and mohalla meetings by senior leaders across constituencies.
