BJP dissolves dist units in state

LUCKNOW: UP Chief Secretary Jawed Usmani Saturday sought a proposal to build an additional bund on Gomti river under Gomti River Banks Development Project,with the integrated planning of the project for developing 12 km long stretch around the river. According to a press release from the government,Usmani directed the Lucknow Development Authority,Irrigation and Environment departments to consider various options for integrated planning of Gomti’s 12-km stretch and sought the proposal for development of land to be reclaimed after building an extra bund.

2 nabbed for posing as CM’s nephew

Etawah: Two youths,one of them impersonating as nephew of UP CM Akhilesh Yadav,were Saturday arrested after they tried to influence the district magistrate (DM) here to obtain gun licence. Manoj,claiming to be Akhilesh’s nephew and also block head of Sefai area,called DM P Guruprasad Friday and asked him to expedite his arm-licence file,SSP Rajesh D Modak said. The DM cross-checked by calling the block head of Sefai,Tej Pratap Singh. After that Manoj and his accomplice Mohd Hashim were arrested.

Woman’s body found in Gomti

Lucknow: Lucknow Police recovered the body of an unidentified woman,who appeared to be middle-aged,from Gomti on Saturday. Sultanganj Chowki In-charge Bharat Kumar said the body will be sent for the post-mortem examination.
